Components of Hydraulic Steering
Hydraulic Helm Pump: This axial piston pump circulates steering fluid when the wheel is turned. A lock valve and pressure relief valve safeguard the system from unexpected feedback and excessive pressure.
Hydraulic Balanced Cylinder: It provides linear movement to the engine, steering the boat to starboard or port.
Hydraulic Steering Fluid: It is required, where the helm pump while being turned pushes the fluid, such that it travels through the tubing and displaces the cylinder.
Hydraulic Hose Tube: It is designed to carry steering fluid between the helm pump and cylinder, it is flexible for easy routing and tested to withstand pressures exceeding normal operation, ensuring leak-free performance.
